Many Persian student organizations focus on serving people of Persian heritage. This is a valuable service because many students don’t have immediate family around, and the student community acts as their support group. As it’s a good omen to be wit family at Tahveel-e Saal, or the moment of the Vernal Equinox, that student community fills an important role.
The purpose of HAND Foundation’s Norooz Outreach Program is to extend this sense of community and celebration BEYOND the Persian community. We invite student groups to apply for a grant to assist in their efforts.
Any student organization (Persian or non-Persian) that is registered with a college or university in the United States and is interested in promoting Norooz, the Persian New Year. Currently, we do not accept international applications.
Please complete the application form through this website. All fields must be completed for an application to be given serious consideration.
Grants can be made in any amount between $250 and $2500. Key grant award criteria are:

Please read carefully!
After your grant application is approved, Norooz Outreach will mail a check issued to an organization in your college/university with 501c3 status. Student groups typically do not have their own 501c3 designation, as such it is customary for us to issue the check to “the office of development” or “office of student affairs” or the like. It is your responsibility to find the right office on your campus, provide their contact info to us and make sure they can transfer the money to your student organization.
Please note that:
We do not make online payments.
We cannot issue checks to individuals or third-party entities outside your college/university.
